In May, Ms. Legal blogged "So Much for Your Promises", a data security loss of the Tricare system in Colorado. TRICARE is the health care program serving Uniformed Service members, retirees and their families worldwide.
On September 28, 2011, yet another Tricare system has been breached.
Government Info Security reported a data security loss of 4.9 million patients in San Antonio Texas military treatment facilities due to backup tapes for electronic health records not being encrypted.
TRICARE reports that the tapes contained Social Security numbers, names, addresses, phone numbers and some personal health data, such as clinical notes, lab tests and prescriptions.
