Back to school time is here.

Child identity theft is a rapidly growing problem. The theft may not be found out for many years, examples are when the child applies for a drivers license or a student loan. All infants are issued Social Security numbers prior to being released from the hospital.

College students, may think they are immune to identity theft because they have obtained a student loan, been approved for an apartment, and have a credit card.

There are many ways that students can fall victim to identity theft. USA Today has written an article which helps identify steps students should take to keep their identity safe titled, "Ten ways students can protect themselves from identity theft."
